Who is Healthy Sleep Solutions?

  • We are an Australian company dedicated to providing patients at high-risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) with convenient access to services  and a  clinical pathway that  will help diagnose and treat this serious condition.
  • Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of Australians who struggle day to day, unaware they have OSA largely because of
    • The expense of many tests
    • Long waiting lists for testing or treatment
    • A lack of specialized medical services in their community or
    • Simply, no-one has considered to check for OSA or associated indicators such as oxygen desaturation.
  • Healthy Sleep Solutions was created to help GPs and their patients by removing these barriers to effective identification and management.

We believe:

  • Specialist physicians are an essential element of the diagnosis and treatment process.
  • General Practitioners, as the day to day custodian of their patients’ health, can play a greater role in initiating testing, organising treatment and ongoing management of sufferers.
  • The current diagnosis and treatment process for OSA needs to be streamlined to allow more at-risk Australians the opportunity to be evaluated and successfully managed.
  • A growing body of clinical evidence supports the long term health and economic benefits of effective diagnosis and treatment of OSA.
  • The approach to diagnosis and treatment of OSA should be driven by medical evidence.

What do we do?

  • Healthy Sleep Solutions offers a range of services to provide community access to a timely, cost effective and reliable management process for sufferers of  OSA. These currently include:
    • General Practice based services for patients who are symptomatic or at high risk of OSA  – particularly focusing on those patient with cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes or who are overweight. At risk patients, selected by their GP are evaluated to assess their profile including clinical history, BMI, ESS score.
    • Corporate services that offer testing to high-risk patients groups and occupations.
  • All referred patients complete a sophisticated sleep study in their home and all test results are reviewed by an independent specialist physician.
  • The HSS management algorithm, developed by Sleep Specialists, is then followed. Patients may be referred for a follow up sleep study if OSA is not indicated or offered various treatment options including CPAP equipment for trial or a mandibular advancement splint (MAS).
  • Ongoing patient support including regular treatment reviews are also offered.
